As the temperatures start to cool down over the next few months, you’ll likely be on a mission to transition into your fall footwear for the season. While summer sandals and strappy heels are a great way to show off your fresh pedi, there is something about the versatility of fall footwear that makes it a 10/10 – and I won’t be convinced otherwise! We’ve gathered up eight trends we’re stoked to be seeing over the next few months!
1. Mary Janes 2.0
This preppy, classic style is not going anywhere. We saw variations of these shoes this past summer, and we’re continuing to see versions this fall. In fact, some designers are taking this trend to new heights by adding a platform variation.

2. Thigh-High Boots
The over-the-knee boot is such a staple in every woman’s wardrobe since…well, forever, and it looks like it’ll continue into fall 2022. Designers are taking the basic silhouette and adding different textiles to spice things up (just like your lattes!) this fall!

3. Sneaker Chic
The athleisure trend is such a major staple in wardrobes nowadays, and we’re thrilled to see it continuing to bleed into fall footwear this year. This season, designers have taken the iconic low-rise sneaker and turned it into something super fashionable.

4. Ballet Flats
Conjuring Y2K fashion yet again, this basic footwear staple is having another moment. Think of Kate Moss circa 2000, these shoes are back with a “cool girl” stamp of approval.

5. Leather Motorcycle Boots
These tried to make a comeback in the early 2010s and appeared to be a street style fav. They were certainly heavier and clunkier, but now we’re seeing them return with new interpretations including boots to heeled versions. No closet will be complete without a pair of these bad boys this fall.

6. Fuzzy & Furry
This is a trend we’re not so sure of, but hey – if it’s on the runway, we have to trust it’s going to turn into something. While it’s mainly faux fur, fuzzy things are taking over for fall 2022 including everything from handbags to footwear. It may be a little less wearable than other trends we’re seeing, it will certainly be a way to make a statement this season!

7. Shimmery & Shiny
Whether it’s ABBA-inspired over-the-knee boots or metallic mules, all things shimmery and shiny are on our must-have list this fall. While it may seem a bit odd to include something this flashy for fall, this trend can be a great was to transition from summer to fall. This is exactly the type of mood-boosting fashion we’ve been waiting for.

8. Wedge Heels
Another nostalgia piece making a comeback for fall 2022 – wedge heels! Major designers are all over this trend. Try a sling-back option for the warmer fall days, and as the weather cools down, opt for a wedge heeled boot – the options are endless with this one.
